So for this the first day here are some interesting calls taken (the italicized words are what ran through my mind at the time or a description of what is happeneing):

" I have an LSD TV and there are lines throughout the image."

Ma'am have you considered that maybe the problem isn't the TV, but the LSD...

This customer is experiencing a faded image on his LCD TV

"I apologize for the issue you are having sir, you mentioned you have cable, is it a cable box or just a coaxial cable from the wall?"

"Just cable from the wall."

"Ok, well we need to test another video source, like a dvd player or a VCR, to see if the issue is with the TV or your cable connection that has an issue."

"Ok, well what do you mean by another video source?"

Sir, god gave you these wonderful inventions called ears, you use them to listen with...you should try it some time.

"OK ma'am I don't support DVD players, so let me transfer you to someone who does, is that alright?"

"That's fine, but I would prefer to speak to a man, I just got off the phone with a young woman who had a terrible accent and she did not sound confident at all. I would be more comfortable talking to a man, I think a man would know more than a woman about this."

That's great, you just covered racist and sexist in one comment, care to see if you can add one more and get a trifecta of intolerance?

Ahh lunch, is there a better, or shorter, hour in the day? I think not. Maybe I will post some more later, for now, good day poppets!

Introduction

So I know, my memoirs are likely not as interesting as those of a Geisha..... ;) but I figured this would be a fun way to burn time between calls at work. I work for a specific consumer electronics company, I won't name which for legal reasons, and I take technical support calls from customers all day long. My posts will mostly consist of the funny things you hear over and over again in technical support. Though occasionally I may choose to post issues pertaining to what I can and cannot do for customers and how it makes me feel, because unlike the company I work for, I hate telling these people they bought a $4000 just more than one year ago and sadly it is out of warranty and there is nothing we can do for them. So those are the are the types of posts you can expect. Enjoy and feel free to comment.
